Gallery: Lions of Zululand
This term we were privileged to have a visit from The Lions of Zululand. The day started with a dance and singing performance which captivated both students and staff alike. This was followed by workshops which included:
Traditional dances
Language and songs
Art, including handmade traditional jewellery
The general opinion of all the staff is that it was one of the best visiting groups that we have ever had. We were amazed to see children, who normally have great difficulty engaging in anything new or out of the ordinary, transfixed by the dancing and music. During the workshops the visiting group’s energy was contagious and nearly every student participated in some way or form. It also gave our students a great insight into the Zulu culture. We have already booked them for next year as we believe the whole experience benefited all of our students.
