Gallery: Miraculous Metamorphosis (Art & Design / Outdoor Learning)
Art & Design / Outdoor Learning Cross-curricula Project - Miraculous Metamorphosis
Britain’s butterflies, moths and bees are disappearing. In an attempt to combat this serious environmental problem, we at Batchwood decided to purchase some caterpillars and watch them grow into stunning butterflies. The students learnt about the process of metamorphosis and delighted in watching them change into beautiful ‘Painted Lady’ butterflies. After a few days of watching them feed the student’s released them amongst the flower beds of the school where we hope their offspring will return too. They also produced some beautiful butterfly paintings.
